Dr Abbas Elmualim

Dr Abbas Elmualim coordinates the Sustainable Design, Construction and FM research group. He has a BSc (Hons) in Architecture from the University of Khartoum and Masters Degrees in the Environmental Design of Buildings from the Welsh School of Architecture (UWCC) and Business Information Technology from Cranfield University. He also has a PhD in Sustainability and Renewable Energy from the University of Reading.
Abbas’s research focuses on the development of integrative approaches to design, construction and facilities management. He has a particular interest in sustainability viewed from a broad socio-technical systems perspective. The adopted research approach seeks to combine engineering research methodologies with those derived from the social sciences.
